Original 1940’s Linen Day dress - Brown /Cream wishes on a Golden Yellow background.

Vintage 1940’s day dress in Brown and Cream wishes on a Golden Yellow Background. I strongly believe this to be a CC41 however label is missing. 
Moygashel linen is one of the finest linens to be used I dressmaking and was widely used whenever was possible early on due its strong ability and wearability. 
The details feature front and back yoke where gathers gently drape to the waist. Shoulder pads, short sleeves. Buttons all undo to the front with self tie belt. Fabulous deep pockets with another detail of a kick pleat appearing from underneath the each pocket. 
I interpreted the print as groups of wishes but they maybe dancers, it’s certainly a happy print. 
Could easily  be accessorised with the browns as we have done in our collection or equally creams would be great too.

A versatile dress for Sunday stroll, picnic or dress up for an evening occasion.

Bust - 38”

Waist - 32”

Shoulder to shoulder seam - 15”

Hips - 44”

Nape to waist -16”

waist to hem - 27” + 1” hem

obviously the belt will cinch in, tied at front or the back

 

 

please make sure you are slightly smaller than these measurements for correct fit and drape.
