Original 1940’s Fabulous Felt Hat - Cherry Red

Vintage 1940’s fabulous felt hat in Cherry Red.

Amazing shape, stiffened felt and fairly structured with pleats at various points to the crown to form this canopy shape.  A lovely deep crown falling to the rear to meet the brim.  Red gross grain ribbon band around the base of crown ( I suspect this is a later addition and could be done neater ).  No stamps or makers label.  

Threads can be seen around the internal rim, you could leave as is or add an inner band to cover these, although this is never seen due to being inside. You can secure with a sewn in comb or a hatpin depends on desired look of hair. 

A fabulous desirable colour hat for many an ensemble.

 Good Vintage Condition - flaws to note : 1 x graze and 1 x pinhole to crown. If desired - Ribbon could be redone and an inner band fitted, this hat is wearable and can easily be worn as - is.
