Original 1920's Sensational Gold Lame Dress with Fretwork Floral - Worn in 1926 For The Original Owners Wedding

 

Vintage 1920's sensational gold lame dress with fretwork floral worn in 1926 for the original owner of the dress's wedding. This exquisite piece features a simple yet amazingly elegant silhouette and has a sleeveless shape, v neck bodice, straight drop waisted shape with a stunning waist to hem panel of lame fretwork florals. This piece is heavy in weight with its all over construction of metal thread work. She wore this ensemble with a slip from ' Marshall and Snelgrove', floral multicoloured on gold lame shoes and a wax head dress. We only wish we had photographs of her evening ensemble too ! What a spectacular celebration it would have been. This is a beautiful piece that again could be worn for bridal or could be worn for special occasions. 

It is truly a magnificent piece from its time and is a great addition to any 1920's fashion collector or wearer. This garment has only been worn once in its lifetime in 1926. A divine piece to add to any collection.

Good Vintage Condition, flaws to note - marks to bodice, a few small missing threads in the fretwork of the floral base and some fraying of the bound edge to the v at the back of the garment. This piece still presents well for its almost a 100 years. With a small repair to the v neck this piece will be wearable for many years to come. Presents beautifully.
